A driver’s license is usually required to get behind the wheel of a car, but the UK’s TrackDays allows 10- to 17-year-olds to be taken to the Ferrari 458 Italia or Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Spyder Performante wheel races.
The kids get six miles of track driving with a professional supervising the passenger seats. Pricing for TrackDays’ Junior Platinum Supercar experience starts at 79 British pounds (about $ 104).
Experience 10 tracks, including the Top Gear Test Track at the Dansfold Aerodrome, about 90 minutes south of London, as well as the Anglesy Circuit in North Wales, featured in “Fifth Gear”.

The cars may not be the latest and greatest from their respective manufacturers, but they still pack a lot of performance. Ferrari has a 562-hp 4.5-liter V-8 and claims 0-62 mph time of 3.4 seconds. The convertible Lamborghini’s 5.2-liter V-10 produces uniform HP, but the heavy car needs 3.9 seconds to run 0-62 miles per hour.
For reference, the 458 Italy Top Gear recorded a 1: 19.1 lap time on the test track when new. “Top Gear” has never tested a performance spider, but the Gallardo LP560-4 coupe has a 1: 19.5 lap time. The current record holder is the Ferrari SF90 Stradale, which sets a blistering lap time of 1: 11.3 in 29 seasons.
Baby drivers will probably not set a record, which is probably good for their parents’ mental health. But it’s hard for a young car enthusiast to think of a better gift, even if they drive something that will probably disappoint a bit.
