Jeep has recently discontinued the Meridian SUV, which is set to go on sale in India soon This new SUV is basically an India-spec Jeep Commander, but with some changes around. With this new model, Jeep India plans to expand its audience in the Indian market, which will increase sales.
Here, we compare the spec sheet of the upcoming Jeep Meridian with the Skoda Kodiak, one of its biggest competitors in the Indian market.
Jeep Meridian vs. Skoda Kodiak – Exterior design and dimensions
The Jeep Meridian has a rough and boxy design, with bold but sleek headlamps on the side of the signature seven-slot grille on the front. The front bumper gets a huge rectangular airdam with chrome ornaments. The SUV also gets smooth wrapped taillights and a flat tailgate, while the surrounding greenhouse area is quite large.
The Skoda Kodiak, by comparison, looks more sporty. It gets a split headlamp setup with the brand’s butterfly grille on the front. In the back, we see wrapped crystal taillights, when the rear bumper gets the wrong exhaust vent. Like the Jeep, the glass area of this Skoda SUV is quite large.

Jeep Meridian vs Skoda Kodiak – interior style and features
The interior of the Jeep Meridian draws inspiration from the Jeep Compass, which features the same design for the dashboard, AC vents and steering wheels, but with a different interior theme and upholstery. The Jeep Meridian price list is expected to be released later, probably in May 2022, but the price of this SUV is expected to be in the same range as the Skoda Kodiaq, probably a little lower. The latter is currently priced at Rs. 34.99 lakhs to 37.49 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
