Upcoming 5-Door Force Gurkha – 5 Things We Hope

Force Gurkha 5-door

Force Motors is currently working on a 5-door version of Gurkha and here, we’ve listed what to expect from it.

Force Gurkha was launched last year in its BS6 incarnation, as an affordable, off-road, lifestyle SUV. At launch, Force Motors revealed that it is already working on a 5-door version of the Gurkha, which will be much more practical than the 3-door model, and many people are eagerly awaiting it.

Here, we have provided all the major details available to us about the upcoming Force Gurkha, along with all the speculations about it.

Exterior design

The 5-door version of the Force Gurkha will have the same overall design as the current 3-door version but will have a 400mm long wheelbase. It will have the same round LED headlights, snorkel, simplified taillights, sideway-opening tailgate (it has an extra wheel fitted), side steps and a rear step. The rear windows will be different, though the SUV design will continue to be boxy.

Interior design

The 5-door Gurkha is expected to be available in 6-seat and 7-seat configurations. The SUV will probably get the same dark interior theme as the 3-door version, and we hope the dashboard and steering wheel will be the same as later versions. The 6-seater version will get the captain’s seat in three rows, while the 7-seater version will get a bench in the second row.

Features and equipment

The offer will have the same equipment as the upcoming Force Gurkha 5-door 3-door model. These will include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system (including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), central locking, rear parking sensors, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, TPMS and more.

Underneath the hood, the 5-door Gurkha will get the same 2.6-liter, turbocharged, inline-4 diesel engine as the existing model. This motor delivers a maximum power of 90 PS and a maximum torque of 250 Nm and it is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

A 4 × 4 system is expected to be offered as standard with a low-ratio transfer case and mechanical locking differential (front and rear). Like the 3-door version, it will have great off-road capabilities.

Force Motors is expected to launch 5-door Gurkha in India later this year, probably in the 2022 Diwali season. It will cost a little more than the existing 3-Door Force Gurkha, which is at retail. 14.10 lakhs (ex-showroom).
