Hyundai Creta The best-selling medium-sized SUV in India in March 2022 was 17,0 YoY de-growth with 12,640 units as against 10,532 units.
As of March 2022, the Hyundai Creta continues to top the sales chart for medium-sized SUVs with 10,532 units sold as against 12,640 units in the same period in 2021 with a YoY negative volume growth of 17 percent. The facelifted Hyundai Creta is expected to make its debut in India in the second half of this calendar year with many changes.
Kia Celtos is in second place with sales of 8,415 units last month, down 20 percent YoY sales from 10,557 units in March 2021. The 2022 Kia Celtos was recently launched with minor updates and adding new features. The Mahindra Scorpio was the third-largest SUV in the country last month
With the second generation Scorpio in the pipeline, the SUV is looking forward to receiving a major update next month. It will be underpinned by a chassis frame ladder and the exterior will be thoroughly redesigned. For performance, the 2.2-liter diesel and 2.0-liter turbo petrol engines have high potential with 4WD in top-spec trim.

Scorpio posted sales of 6,061 units last month, a massive YoY increase of 160 percent compared to 2,331 units in the same period in 2021. The Mahindra XUV700 ranks fourth with 6,040 units while the Hyundai Alcazar three-row SUV recorded a total sales of 2,502 units in March 2022.
The Skoda Kushaq was the sixth best-selling medium-sized SUV last month, with about 2,500 units registered. Kushak has helped Czech Automaker post good sales numbers in recent months and this is the first major attack based on the India 2.0 project. It sits heavily on the local MQB A0 IN platform and has a lot in common with VW Taigun.
With 2,284 units sold in March 2021, Tatagun is eighth with 2,380 units behind Tata Harrier by 2,491 units and YoY sales are up 9 percent. Tata Safari is in ninth place with 2,277 units as against 2,148 units, an increase of 4 percent. MG Astor ranked in the top ten with 2,248 units sold.
