The Maruti Suzuki WagonR FY2021-22 was the best-selling car as 1,88,838 units were sold with an increase of 17.7 per cent against 1,60,330 units.

In the 2021-22 fiscal year (April 2021 to March 2022), Maruti Suzuki finished WagonR at the top of the sales chart with a total domestic sales of 1,88,838 units, up from 1,60,330 units in the same period a year ago with a healthy YoY sales growth of 17.7 percent. 7 defeated Swift, Baleno and Alto

The Swift Compact hatchback posted a total of 1,67,827 units in the last fiscal year, with YoY sales down 2.8 percent from 1,72,671 units between April 2020 and March 2021. The Baleno was the third best-selling passenger car last fiscal year with a total of 1,46,183 units, down 10.5 percent year-on-year from 1,63,445 units in FY2020-21.

The Alto entry-level hatchback finished fourth with 1,45,167 units, with 1,58,992 units with a YoY de-growth of 8.7 percent. The Desire Compact sedan recorded a total of 1,26,790 units, down 1.1 percent from 1,28,251 units as it continues to be the best-selling sedan in the country.

The presence of Tata Nexon in the second half of the table saw a huge YoY increase of 94.6 percent in FY2020-21 compared to 63,757 units with sales of 1,24,130 units – the highest for any model in the top ten. The compact SUV was the best-selling SUV in the last financial year as it surpassed Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.

The Creta Midsize SUV finished seventh with 1,18,092 units, down 1.6 percent YoY from 1,20,035 units in the same period last fiscal. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is the eighth best-selling MPV in India with a total of 1,17,150 units, up 32.2 per cent from 88,571 units.

2022 Maruti Suzuki Wagner

The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is in ninth place with sales of 1,13,711 units against 94,635 units, an increase of 20.1 per cent, while the Eeco YoY is in the top ten with a growth of 1,08,345 units against 1,05,081 units and 3.1 per cent.
