The new 2023 Porsche 911 has been spotted with minimal camouflage

Our spy photographers were caught testing out next year’s Facelifted Porsche 911 Cabriolet. Despite its camouflage, it is clear to see changes in the new drop top, with the German brand aiming for a subtle evolution of the look of the current car.

Take a look outside the camouflage and you’ll find the same front-end treatment as the Cabriolet Coupe, which we caught through the evaluation earlier this year. While the 992.2 is likely to be nominated, the Facelifted 911 will feature a slightly cleaner grille on the front and new integrated LED daytime running lights, while the rear diffuser has been redesigned to make room for the new Center Exit Ext system. We also expect some different alloy wheel designs and paint options.

Coming to the UK in 2023, the refreshed 911 will also benefit from some chassis tweaks and, most notably, a fully digitized cabin that eliminates the current model’s analog rev-counter.

The cards also have a jack-up safari model, which we have already caught through the evaluation. This high-riding machine will have plastic body cladding that will help protect the panels from scrap when driving on rough terrain, as well as GT3-style bonnet vents.

Inside, the Facelifted 911 is expected to retain the same basic layout as existing cars. It will also benefit from Porsche’s latest PCM 6.0 infotainment system, which has recently been updated to include Spotify Music Streaming, Wireless Android Auto and an advanced voice assistant.

Inside, the Facelifted 911 is expected to retain the same basic layout as existing cars. It will hold Porsche’s latest PCM 6.0 infotainment system, which has been updated to include Spotify Music Streaming, Wireless Android Auto and an advanced voice assistant.

However, the updated sports car could go a long way with a new, fully digital instrument panel like the Taycan EV. The current model has an analog rev-counter adjacent to the two screens, but can be replaced with a thin curved screen that can display drive mode information, a map for navigation and a feed from the car’s night-vision system.

The next 911 could get an advanced suite of sensors for more advanced driving-assistance technology. A raft 992.2 with chassis and handling improvements is expected to give a sharp response when the driver takes full control.

Porsche has honored the suspension and steering set-up of the 911 as part of an earlier mid-life update, so there is a possibility of a restart electric power steering set-up and modified chassis settings. A Snapper calibration is also possible for the eight-speed PDK gearbox, although 992.2 is unlikely to get significant powertrain correction.

However it will gain a new hybrid variant. The long-awaited, electrified 911 will be part of the 992.2 line-up, although this option can be added after Facelift is turned on. The electrically assisted 911 can produce more power than the 641bhp 911 Turbo S and may be the most powerful 911 available.
