The Suzuki V-Strom 250 Adventure motorcycle is expected to compete with the KTM 250 Adventure and Benelli TRK 251 soon after its arrival in India.
The V-Strom 250 adventure bike has long been the subject of speculation in India, and the launch of the Gixxer 250 Nude and the Gixxer SF250 featured supersport has further fueled them. The Japanese two-wheeler Major sells high-end motorcycles such as the Access 125, the recently launched Avenis 125, Burgman Street 125, and the Hayabusa and V-Strom 650XT in India.
The brand is expected to expand its premium portfolio by adding new models as it does not intend to dig deeper into the commuter segment. It is looking to expand the reach of its exclusive motorcycle dealership across the country. Also, Gurugram, a manufacturing facility in Haryana with a capacity of over one million units, will be used as a global manufacturing hub for small capacity models in the range of 125-300 cc.
Suzuki has already been testing an electric scooter based on the Burgman Street 125 for several months and is expected to go on sale later this year. With the arrival of the Avenis 125 in November 2021, Suzuki has expanded its range of 125 cc scooters and it has been well received by the customers. The company is expected to add another motorcycle to its lineup soon.
The teaser images published on Suzuki’s official social media platform do not reveal much, but the motorcycle is more likely to be an advertisement. Promo lines such as ‘Discover New Backdrops with the Master’, ‘Find New Spots to Chill with the Master’ and ‘Discover New Playgrounds with the Master’ suggest that a new V-Storm is coming.
In the international market, Suzuki often uses the word ‘master’ with V-Storm products. Calling it ‘we’ve been waiting a long time’ and emphasizing ‘adventure’ makes us believe it will be a quarter-liter V-Strom 250. Rumors had previously indicated that Suzuki would build an Adv based on the existing 250cc platform. Underpin Gixxer 250 and SF 250.
With a different suspension setup and sub-frame, the Suzuki V-Strom 250 will probably be powered by a 249 cc single-cylinder oil-cooled fuel-injected engine developing 26.13 bhp and 22.2 Nm and may be combined with a six. – Speed transmission. If it is seen to be V-Strom 250, then it will compete with KTM 250 Adventure and the price range is around Rs. 2.5 lakhs (ex-showroom). If not, it is more likely to be Litter Class V-Strom 1050 or updated 650.
