MG posted a growing internal number of 4,721 units in March 2022, compared to 5,528 units with a YoY negative growth of 14.6 percent.
MG Motor India today announced the sales numbers for the month of March 2022 as we set foot in the new financial year with high expectations for the automotive industry. The British manufacturer posted a growing internal number of 4,721 units last month, with a YoY negative growth of 14.6 per cent compared to 5,528 units in the same period in 2021.
In March 2021, MG recorded its highest monthly sales of 5,528 units. The brand says it has been largely affected by supply chain constraints due to the health crisis and the ongoing global shortage of semiconductor chips. MG also noted that it suffered a huge increase of 69 percent in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the previous quarter between October and December 2021.
It was driven by a good reception for the Astor Midsize’s five-seater SUV, which debuted late last year, and the first batch, consisting of 5,000 units, sold out in a matter of minutes due to the highly competitive price range and the list of packaged features since entry-level trimming. MG says bookings and searches are witnessing positive momentum for Astor, Hector, Gloster and the recently facelifted ZS EV.
The 2022 MG ZS EV already has a strong booking record of 1,500 units in March. Compared to previous versions, it has a larger 50.3 kWh battery pack that enables an improved claimed range of 461 kilometers on a single charge. The permanent synchronous electric motor is also more powerful at this time and the battery pack has UL2580 certification for IP69K safety rating and good durability.
MG offers five different charging options with the new ZS EV: at DC dealerships DC fast charger enables 80 percent in just one hour, AC charger capable of filling up in 8.5-9 hours, AC charger at dealer, portable charger with charging time in 15A socket 18 9 19 hours of plugging time and 24 × 7 roadside support in case of emergency for mobile charging support.
The facelifted electric SUV has many changes inside and out, and the list of features includes dual-pane panoramic sunroof, iSmart Tech 75 Plus connected feature, leather layered dashboard, leather-wrapped steering wheel, rear center armrest, rear center armrest, rear center armrest, Driver armrests, digital keys, digital clusters and much more.
