
Mahindra & Mahindra has updated the price of the Thar SUV in the Indian market, with the highest rupee increase. 51,000 in select variants
Mahindra & Mahindra has increased the prices of its SUVs and MPVs in India from April 14, 2022. The price of the brand’s Lifestyle Off-Road SUV – Ther – has also increased significantly, with a price tag of Rs. 51,000, depending on the form selected. Here, we have listed the latest price list of Mahindra Thar.
The petrol variant of Mahindra Thar is now priced at Rs. 13.53 lakh to 15.75 lakh, while the diesel variant is priced at Rs. 13.88 lakhs to Rs. 16.03 lakhs. Before the last price increase, the price of this SUV started from Rs. 13.17 lakhs to Rs. 15.33 lakhs for petrol version, and from Rs. 13.38 lakhs to Rs. 15.53 lakhs for diesel version.
In the Indian market, the Mahindra Thar is available with two engine options. The first is a 2.0-liter, turbocharged, inline-4 petrol powerplant that delivers 150 PS and 320 Nm (300 Nm in manual variants). The second is a 2.2-liter, turbocharged, inline-4 diesel mill, 130 PS on tap and 300 Nm.
Both engines are available with a choice between a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. Comes as standard in a four-wheel-drive system SUV with a low-ratio transfer case, with a rear mechanical-locking differential.
Thare has a lot of off-road features, such as brake-locking differential, ESP with roll-over mitigation, roll cage, TPMS, etc. The SUV has impressive mechanisms and exit angles – 41.8 degrees and 36.8 degrees – respectively, with a ramp-over angle of 27 degrees.

Also, Mahindra Thar can be purchased with a hard-top roof or a soft-top convertible roof. In the Indian market, this SUV has only one direct competitor – Force Gurkha – the other is expected to launch soon in the form of Maruti Jimny.
