The Kia EV6 can be sold in India capable of developing 585 hp and 740 Nm in its GT specifications; Based on the E-GMP platform as the India-bound Hyundai Ioniq 5

Kia India has repeatedly been seen testing the EV6 on public roads and is expected to go on sale in May or June 2022. It will probably be introduced as a full import and it is likely to be offered in full loaded trim High considering that the range-topping GT performance-based trim has already been caught on camera several times.

The electric crossover sits on a dedicated e-GMP skateboard architecture and bears some resemblance to the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which is expected to launch in India later this year. Despite being based on the same architecture, both zero-emission vehicles differ in their appearance, as Kia and Hyundai have adopted their own styling directions.

Although the Hyundai Ioniq 5 has retro application, the Kia EV6 is based on the latest Reverse United styling philosophy with more modern design details. It has an attractive road presence, courtesy of the sharp-looking headlights with sporty LED daytime running lights with a muscular hood and a set of 19-inch wheels with aggressive looks.

Other visual highlights include a front-racked windshield, a thick light bar across the width of the rear crossover, a sculpted boot structure, an integrated spoiler and more. For the interior, the Kia EV6 will probably be equipped with a suite of driver-friendly and safety features with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology.

The list of features includes a large touchscreen infotainment system, an all-digital instrument cluster, a two-spoke steering wheel, a head-up display with augmented reality, a wireless charger and more. Worldwide, the EV6 is well-received by customers and is available with a 58 kWh or 78 kWh battery pack.

The small battery pack drives the rear wheels with a single electric motor of 170 hp, while a dual-motor configuration powers four wheels with a combined output of 235 hp. Similarly, the 78 kWh battery pack can be in two configurations. A single motor system enables 229 hp and AWD layout 325 hp. The top-spec GT trim delivers 585 hp and 740 Nm.
