Abarth 595 and 695 have been updated for 2022

Fiat’s performance sub-brand, Abarth, has unveiled its updated 2022 line-up. Since the Abarth 124 Spider derived from the Mazda MX-5 went on sale in 2019, the Abarth range includes the Fiat 500-based 595 and 695, so this new update presents the completeness of the Abarth range.

The entry-level 595 could be substituted for a more style-centric Turismo, or F595 – which changes some performance. The range-topping 695 is also available with the Turismo package or even the Sportier Competizione.

Starting at £ 21,295 for the 595, the Abarth holds its turbocharged 163bhp 1.4 four-cylinder, so it stands at 7.3 seconds with a 0-62mph manual transmission or 7.4 seconds for a five-speed sequential automatic ‘box’. Both will reach a maximum speed of 135mph.

The Abarth 595 comes as standard with 16-inch wheels, a double chrome exhaust, stainless-steel paddle, flat-bottom steering wheel and coni rear suspension.

Upgrade to £ 22,295 F595 and you’ll find a Titanium Manza Sovaraposto exhaust system with vertically stacked quad pipes, automatic climate control, 17-inch alloy wheels and a special F595 badge to pay homage to Formula 4 – where Abarth .

The more powerful 695 comes with the same powertrain as the 595 but with 177bhp and 250Nm of torque, resulting in a time of 0-62mph at 6.7 seconds and a 140mph maximum speed.

Starting at £ 24,495, it goes further with the Connie FSD Shock Absorber and the Beaver Front Four-Piston Brembo Caliper with a 305mm front disc. Competitively, you’ll find sable seats with red stitching and a carbon shell, and a choice of robotized sequential gearboxes with a mechanically limited slip differential or steering wheel pedals.

An exclusive alternative to the 695 is the ‘Racing Style Pack’ which adds a 12-way adjustable rear spoiler to enhance aerodynamic loads up to 42 kg at a speed of 124mph.

Fiat’s 7-inch touchscreen, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, sits in the middle of the dash across the entire range. Each trim level can also be specified as a ‘C’ convertible, which adds an extra 6 2,650 compared to the hatchback model.
