SUVs are very popular in the Indian market, and soon, we will have coupe-style SUVs in the mainstream market.

In India, the demand for SUVs continues to grow, and car manufacturers are moving fast to meet it. There are already a lot of SUVs being sold in our market and there are many more to come To break the monotony of boxy models and add trendy choices for the masses, several car makers are planning to launch coupe-style SUVs in the mass market.

Tata Motors has recently unveiled a new medium-sized electric SUV concept called ‘Curvv’. It is based on the brand new Generation 2 platform and follows the philosophy of new-gen impact design. It is expected to launch in its production form next year, first with an all-electric powertrain option, which is expected to provide a driving range of about 500 kilometers. A petrol and a diesel engine option will be added later

Mahindra & Mahindra plans to showcase three electric SUV concepts in India in July 2022 based on the ‘Born EV’ platform. Official teasers have confirmed that one of the concept cars will be a coupe SUV, which is rumored to be ‘XUV900’. It will probably outperform the XUV700 in the brand’s lineup, with lots of features and equipment on offer.

Maruti Suzuki is also working on a new coupe-style SUV, codenamed YTB, which is expected to make its debut later this year or early next year. This upcoming model will share its architecture with the new Baleno hatchback and will have lots of premium features. Presumably, it will be powered by a 1.2L petrol engine, though a 1.5L petrol mill may be offered instead; We’ll learn more about this near the car’s debut.

We expect Toyota to launch a revised version of the coupe-style SUV mentioned above. Like other Toyota-badged Maruti Suzuki cars, the Toyota version will have some cosmetic differences, which will probably include a restored front grille, new bumpers and a few other minor changes. The list of mechanics and equipment will be similar to the Maruti version.
