When the current Nissan Pathfinder arrived for the 2022 model year, there was nothing that really reminded us of the rough, body-on-frame roots of our nameplate. That changes with the arrival of a new Pathfinder Rock Creek variant that hits dealerships as a 2023 model later this summer.
While it sticks to the unibody design like a regular Pathfinder car, Rock Creek adds some extra power to add off-road tuned suspension with standard all-wheel drive, 5/8-inch lift, 18-inch lift. Wheels with all-terrain tires, and a roof rack with 220-pound carrying capacity.
Pathfinder’s 3.5-liter V-6 dials more performance. Rock Creek gets ratings of 295 hp and 270 pound-feet of torque, 284 hp and 259 pound-feet of regular Pathfinder. A 9-speed automatic is standard in both cases. Additional performance, which requires premium fuel, has been made possible by modified fuel mapping.

Note that the towing capacity is unchanged. It costs ,000 6,000, which requires Pathfinder’s Toe Hitch and Shoe – an ideal feature of Rock Creek. Also included as standard are a second-tier captain’s chair, LED fog lights and an ambient view monitor with a special off-road mode.
You will see the Rock Creek variant by its unique front fascia which features a dark grill. The car has model-specific badges on the outside and embroidery on the inside. The Orange Contrast Stitching Cabin also features.
2023 Pathfinder Rock Creek made its official debut at the 2022 New York International Auto Show starting April 13. To learn about other vehicles set up for the show, visit our Dedicated Hub.
