Maruti Suzuki has recently launched the updated Ertiga in the Indian market, and the new model has already created a lot of buzz online. The MPV has a lot of changes compared to the previous model, although it still retains the original winning formula – an affordable, spacious car with low running costs.
Here, we’ve listed all the significant changes in the updated 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga compared to the outgoing model.
1. Exterior design changes
The 2022 Maruti Ertiga features a new front grille (with a chrome wing design), new machine-cut alloy wheels, and chrome highlights on the tailgate. Two new color options have been added – Splendid Silver and Dignity Brown – with Pearl Arctic White, Magma Gray, Auburn Red and Prime Oxford Blue color options being promoted.
2. Change the interior styling
The cabin design of the updated Ertiga is similar to the outgoing version, although there are some changes. It gets new dual-tone upholstery, with a lighter color theme overall. The dashboard and steering wheel have metallic tech wood inserts, which add a premium feel to the MPV. Also, the paddle shifter is now offered in the automatic variant of the Ertiga.
3. Additional features and equipment
Maruti Suzuki Cruise control, one-touch window up with anti-pinch (driver side), auto headlamps with follow me home function, auto-folding ORVMs (electrically powered), and Suzuki Connect (integrated vehicle technology) attached to Ertiga. 4. Powertrain Update
The Maruti Ertiga has a 1.5-liter, naturally ambitious, under-hood Inline-4 petrol engine that delivers 103 PS of maximum power and 136.8 Nm of maximum torque. A CNG option is also available with the engine (100.6 PS / 136 Nm in petrol mode and 87.8 PS / 121.5 Nm in CNG mode).
Transmission options here include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque-converter in the automatic petrol-only version. In the case of the Ertiga S-CNG, it is only available with the 5-speed manual gearbox option.
5. Price and competition
The Maruti Ertiga is now priced at Rs. 8,35,000 to Rs. 12,79,000 for petrol version only, whereas S-CNG version is priced from Rs. 10,44,000 to Rs. 11,54,000. It has no direct competitors in the Indian market; The Ertiga serves as an upmarket alternative to the Renault Triber, while the Kia Carens and Maruti XL6 are an affordable alternative. The Tour M version of the Ertiga is priced at Rs. 9,46,000 for petrol variant, and Rs. 10,41,000 for CNG variant.
