1,050-hp Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance Becomes Flagship of Electric Sedan

On Tuesday, Lucid unveiled the new Grand Turing and Grand Turing performance models on its airline.

The new models will take the Dream Edition range and Dream Edition performance models as a range-topping option for the air after the imminent completion of production, which was limited to only 520 units at a time.

Lucid said Grand Turing is already being delivered to customers and Grand Turing Performance will begin delivery in June. And unlike the Dream Edition model, the Grand Turing has no limited production.

The Air Grand Turing starts at $ 139,000, while the Air Grand Turing performance starts at 179,000 or $ 10,000 more than the previous Dream Edition models.

The Grand Touring performance isn’t as strong as the Dream Edition performance, with the limited-edition model’s 1,111 hp vs. 1,050 hp rating. It sits on 21-inch wheels and will rocket from 0-60 miles per hour in 2.6 seconds. Approximate range 446 miles.

Regular Grand Touring comes with 819 hp and requires three seconds to accelerate to 60 miles per hour from rest. It comes with 21-inch wheels, in which case its range is approximately 469 miles. Swap the 19-inch wheel and this model will return 516 miles on charge.

In both cases there is a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. The cars come with a 900-volt electric system that enables a charging rate of 350 kW. At this rate, the 300 mile range can be added in about 21 minutes.

As the new flagship, the Grand Turing models are generously decorated as standard. The list includes a glass roof, a 34-inch driver display and infotainment panel, a 21-speaker audio system, heated and ventilated massage seats (front only), and Lucid’s DreamDrive Pro suite with driver-assisted features that includes leader monitoring.

Lucid still has two more models to add to the air range. These include entry-level Air Pure priced from $ 77,400 and a mid-range air touring priced from $ 95,000. These additional models will start coming next year. Despite being an entry-level model, the Air Pure is still expected to deliver 480 hp and a range of about 406 miles. The Air Touring is expected to come with a range of 620 hp and 406 miles.
